Quotient Consulting Sdn. Bhd., (QC) is founded on 28th June 2011 and incorporated as a private company limited by shares under the Malaysian Companies Act, 1965 on 26th July 2011. It is a boutique firm, which focuses on array of data protection and privacy consulting services. The incorporation of QC was mooted during the winter of 2010 in London, and it was further affirmed during the spring of 2011 in London. In the summer of 2011, the founding QC members deliberated to pursue with its incorporation as a registered company in Malaysia.
QC Young History: The idea of QC is derived from its founder, Mujahid and the two co-founders; Azli and Noris. The early discussions took place in various places at Kuala Lumpur (from JWW Marriot Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, KL Hilton Sentral, and to Pavilion). These strategic discussions took place between the months of April – July of 2010 and 2011 respectively. It was, at the time, the founders collectively outlook the timely significance to incorporating QC due to the speculative consulting demands on data protection and privacy (DPP) across Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region.
QC Founders: All of the founders are born in 1976 – Mujahid is an emerging, down to earth and street-smart entrepreneur who owns stakes in many businesses throughout Malaysia and Indonesia. He is the brainchild of QC. Azli has had global experience in corporate finance, capital market, business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategies and green technologies. He has been QC DNA advisor on strategy and business development. Noris is QC’s driver that drives and leads the consulting. He has had an excess of 10 years of intellectual property, information technology laws, corporate governance, corporate responsibility and risk management working exposure.
What’s behind the QC brand? In the Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary, quotient means “a number which is the result when one number is divided by another”. This metaphorical definition leads to this distinctive impact: applying our specialised knowledge, skills and expertise to achieve our stakeholders’ desired results.
To position its brand presence, QC has applied for the registration of its trademark “QC” in Malaysia and Singapore. QC corporate identity is red and black. Its written documentation correspondence and communication uses Myriad font and its website domain is <www.qconsultant.com> QC tagline is “Information is Invaluable”. This straightforward tagline connotes that all information on this planet serves many purposes, and from that, it is invaluable due to its potential to being commoditised.
QC on Sustainability: QC’s approach on sustainability is based on going-green through modest reduction of carbon footprint efforts. Which means, less documentation and paper, preferably through digital documentation. Less physical meetings, which require extensive travelling, preferably through Skype, MSN, Slideshare, Boxnet, Facebook and LinkedIn. And probono efforts for stakeholders who are less able to receive the knowledge and exposure outreach on DPP (particularly to orphanage, aborigines, suburb schools and old folk homes).
