QC is planning to host the first Global Information Governance Summit (GIGS) 2012. This Summit will attract leading experts, regulators, corporate leaders, practitioners, academics, public policy and consumer groups who advocate Data Protection and Privacy (DPP) in a multidisciplinary setting. It will be held on 10th – 11th October 2012, Monday-Tuesday, at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, located within the elegant, modern administrative capital of Malaysia vicinity, the Federal Territory of Putrajaya.
At this juncture, QC has confirmed to be the lead summit host for this first global event. The next step is to solicit any potential stakeholders who wish to be involved in GIGS through four routes of partnerships; Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. GIGS will have five conference tracks: (1) Data Protection Commissioners/Privacy Commissioners (2) Practitioners/Consultants/Lawyers (3) Academics and Researchers (4) Information Security / High Tech Companies & Private Companies (5) NGO, Public Policy and Consumer Groups. The keynote address will be tentatively delivered by the Malaysian Prime Minister (subject to his schedule commitment and availability). There will be key preliminary sessions, which are headed, led and facilitated by global leading figures in DPP and industry captains. Further details of confirmed figures will follow suit by the end of 2011.
GIGS aims to network ASIAN DPP leaders together with other DPP leaders from other parts of the world. It will be a platform of business opportunities, research collaborations, cross selling and knowledge sharing. To effectuate this effort, QC is calling any interested stakeholders who are very keen to explore the possible partnership routes, as well as for those who are interested to submit their proposals to speak, chair and getting themselves involved directly and indirectly in GIGS to: noris@qconsultant.com.
